Introducing Me… Social Businesses, Social Networks, Social Brand??

To get things started I thought it would be beneficial to share a litte about myself.  For the last 20 years I’ve been heads down within the high tech software industry.  Throughout my career I had always prided myself in being on the cutting edge of technology. Not only for myself, but for my staff, the company, our customer’s and our partners selling and supporting our solutions. So, as I began wrapping my cranium around the different approaches to social media, I pondered what role it played, what should I know and how best to integrate these new items into my business strategy.  I have to admit I was slower than comfortable in connecting the dots but I did get there and was changed forever! Prior to getting my head wrapped around social, my primary focus was on Web based hosted solutions, focused on improving computing power for analysis, simulation, rendering, collaboration, etc.  Cutting edge technologies and solutions in their own right! Still a passion too…

As I talked with my business friends,  whom were living and breathing social as the next coming of christ, as well as a quantum shift.  The fact I prided myself on being a technologist they were perplexed I hadn’t fully embraced a social approach or business strategy, which obviously drove them nuts to some degree!

About 6 months ago I made a major career decision to move on from the company and industry I’ve spent most of my career to pursue the advancement of my knowledge, experience and insight around becoming social.  Over the coming weeks, months and possibly years I’ll be telling the stories of myself, other individuals that are either new to the journey or veterans thought leaders in the social evolution…  I’ve read a lot about the concept, but my articles, interviews and thought leadership will be real stories of smart people like you and me discovering what I believe is the next most important industrial revolution in modern human history.
